Students take comprehensive courses that allow them to build a solid biblical and theological and foundation, from which they can develop a life of Christian commitment, service, and faith. A small, private, four-year university, students at Bethesda have a strong commitment to Christianity, their moral character, and their education.

With a foundation in biblical studies and theology, curriculum integrates faith and academia. Bethesda University offers online Bachelor of Arts degrees in Religion (Biblical Studies, Christian Education, and Pastoral Ministry), Master of Arts in Biblical Studies, and Master of Divinity.

The online Bachelor of Arts in Religion program has four primary focal points: Biblical Studies, Pastoral Ministry, Missions, and Christian Education. Biblical Studies is a scholastic approach to faith and theology. Students take courses that focus on history, proper interpretation methods, and ethics and doctrines. Pastoral Ministry seeks to provide students with ministry skills, including the professional and academic skills, discipleship, and practical evangelism to help them thrive. Missions incorporates cross-culture views to help students learn about the world of evangelism, while developing passion-based, effective mission plans. Christian Education is focused on preparing students to serve local churches and affiliated agencies.

The Master of Arts in Biblical Studies program is a two-year degree. This degree program was designed for students wanting to study the bible and religion on a deeper level, without necessarily wanting to become pastors. With courses in Theological and Historical Studies, Practical Ministry Studies, and field work, students gain a greater biblical and theological knowledge bases. While the program isn’t necessarily designed for students wanting to become pastors, many pastors who have already earned their degree, choose this program to further study their field.

Often praised for being the “first professional ministerial degree,” the Master of Divinity program is a 3 year program required for prospective ministers. Students not only receive training in biblical, theological, and historical contexts, they are also required to complete hands-on, practical field education, which will prepare them for ministry.

With a student to teacher ratio of 6:1, Bethesda is dedicated to helping their students learn in both academia and faith. Devoted to making their students stronger Christians, Bethesda University has a reputation of excellence inside the classroom and out.
